Hi I am Brad Chappell owner of Brad Chappell Guide Service. Teaching others how to catch big trophy crappie is my absolute passion.

In order to become a successful crappie fisherman, you must become versatile with many different techniques. I’m extremely competent in the crappie fishing techniques known as long line trolling, spider rigging, dock shooting, single poling, and pulling cranks.

My specialty is long line trolling which catches not only large quantities but great quality fish. I’ve been crappie fishing for most of my life and have many years of tournament experience. I live in central Mississippi which is known for its giant slab crappie. I guide out of a 18 foot Ranger 690 setup with the top of the line equipment needed to catch big mature crappie. I can travel and fish any lake in North or Central MS.

Aside from tournament fishing, I have been featured in various state and national publications such as: Crappie World, Mississippi Sportsman, Crappie NOW, Mid-South Hunting & Fishing, Mid-West Outdoors

My public service commitments include seminars and demos at various locations (MDWFP, Bass Pro Shops and WalMart).

GEAR

I’ll provide all the gear, tackle and bait. I fish with top-line equipment that you can rely on for the fish we’re going after. I have life vests available on the boat and will require anyone under the age of 12 to wear a vest at all times.

Electronics

My boat is equipped with state of the art electronics. My latest addition is the Garmin Panoptix LiveScope™, referred to in the industry as a true game changer in fishing electronics. Garmin says “Panoptix LiveScope™ live scanning sonar, the most amazing sonar technology ever.” and from Bassmaster “Talk about a true game-changer”

Lodging

I own a multi-bedroom cabin on Lake Washington that’s used to lodge all my guided clients. The lodge can sleep up to 8 clients with food and entertainment.

Fishing License Information

You are responsible for purchasing a fishing license. (Please purchase your license prior to meeting your guide.) You can purchase them online at https://www.mdwfp.com/license/fishing/ . After your online purchase the Mississippi license will be mailed to you which usually takes from a few days to a week. Children under 16 years of age do not need to purchase a license.
